Shop Early and Send Often!

Greetings from Milwaukee, or as we like to call it this time of the year, “The Gift Box Capital of the World”. Here at Usinger’s, preparations are under way for our 140th Holiday Season, albeit a little different from any other we have seen.

The key for all of us in 2020 is to plan ahead and order early. During our ongoing pandemic online shopping has become the “go to” for many people and there is every reason to think this trend will continue as we head into the holidays. So much so that many e-commerce experts are predicting delivery bottlenecks this coming season.

 Please help us by placing your order as early as possible this year. We’ll always do our best to fill last minute requests and orders, but the best thing you can do is order early.

 Customers like you are the reason we have been making and shipping America’s Finest Sausage since 1880, and we are committed to doing everything we can to deserve your continued loyalty. To put it simply, thank you.

Not able to get together with friends and relatives this year?

Sure, you could phone, Facetime or Zoom, but why not turn things up a notch and send them a treat from Milwaukee!   Just remember to order it early.

Fall Grilling

Fall is one of my favorite times of year… It’s Oktoberfest Season! Grilling Brats in the crisp air, matched with a great seasonal beer. Changing times mean changing measures

The spread of the Covid-19 virus has caused us to make a few changes to the way we do business, as I’m sure it has affected the way your life works as well. Hopefully everyone is staying healthy as we work through this. At Usinger’s we have temporarily closed our retail store on Old World Third Street. This is for the protection of our customers and employees as it can get crowded in there. But have no fear our Sausage Kitchen and Smokehouses are busy producing sausages six days a week to keep up on shipments supplying grocery stores that proudly carry our products. You can also order directly from us online at usinger.com. You will find almost all our items in the Deli or Gift Store sections on our website. We will ship anywhere in the continental U.S. and that seems to be one of the preferred ways to receive food these days. Here’s to hoping summer is just around the corner and praying an end to this epidemic is too. Stay well and enjoy eating at home.

The Man With The Gifts!

The Usinger Gift Box Annex is now open! It’s the fastest, easiest way to shop. Gift boxes starting as low as $24.00. We even offer store to door service, as in, we’ll even carry your gifts to your car. All the great gifts you see online or in our catalog are available for immediate pick up in the Annex. Located right next to our Retail Store on Old World Third St. the Annex is a quick in and out for holiday gift shopping. The Annex is open daily from 8:30 to 5:30 (closed Sunday).

If you’re planning a holiday party stop in the Usinger retail store right next door. We’ve got lots of specialty sausages and smoked meats that’ll be perfect for your holiday gatherings. Be sure and check out the seconds table too. You can always find some bargains there. A quick stop at Usinger’s for holiday sausages has been a Milwaukee tradition for generations.

Limited Free Parking is available in the Usinger lot, located on the south side of the annex.

It’s Almost Time for the Fair!

The Wisconsin State Fair will be starting in a couple of weeks at State Fair Park in Milwaukee. It’s always one of the highlights of summer for Wisconsinites including myself. There’s something for everyone to see and do, from farm animals to new products, and carnival rides to great food! Speaking of food, you’ll find many of the best eats in the air conditioned Wisconsin Products Pavilion. We’ve been a part of the Wisconsin Products Pavilion for many years and I can honestly say I don’t think you’ll find a better place to eat at the Fair than here. Whether you like brats or baked potatoes they’ve got it all…and why not have both! The menu at Usinger’s booth this year includes bratwurst w/kraut, smoked brat w/kraut, Italian sausage w/pepper & onions, Beef Frank, and our classic Reuben sandwich. Of course all of our sausages are served on tasty Miller Bakery Pretzel buns.

Is it August Already?

Yep, the State Fair is underway at State Fair Park in West Allis. I love the Fair, an adventure at every turn and a huge selection of foods to try.

I invite you to stop by the Usinger Booth in the air conditioned Wisconsin Products Pavilion. We are serving up our ¼ pound Brats, Beef Franks, Italian Sausage or Smoked Brat with Cheddar & Jalapeno.

In addition to our sausage we’re featuring three great Reuben sandwiches. You will find the classic Corned Beef Reuben as well as our Turkey Reuben or try a Smoked Ham Reuben. Of course we use our house made Usinger Sauerkraut to build these beauties.

So find comfort and the best food at the best price inside the Wisconsin Products Pavilion.

The Second Half of Summer!

As we enter the second half of this summer. It’s time to review your grilling successes. Hopefully you have attained “black belt status” for grilling brats and wieners using my two beer philosophy. Now it’s time to expand the menu. Have you tried Usinger Smoked Pork Chops on the grill? They are already smoked and fully cooked, just sear the outside a little (so you get the nice grill marks) and they are ready to go. Or try some of my other spicy international favorite links: Usinger Andouille, Smoked Chorizo or Portuguese style Linguica. All are smoked and cooked, so they require minimal grill time to heat them through, quick & easy. If you like some cheddar in your wurst, try our Smoked Brat with Cheddar & Jalapeno (it’s really good!).

Happy Holidays!

It’s getting down to crunch time, you know, that time of year when you may have heard Marshmallow World just a bit too often. This is when you want to wrap up the shopping and just relax that last week before Christmas. Well, let us help, the Usinger Gift Box Annex is open 6 days a week, Monday thru Saturday, from 8:30 to 5:30. Parking is free and so is help in loading your gifts into your car. It’s easy, it’s fast, and hey, it’s right next to the Usinger retail store so if you need something for dinner or holiday guests, you can take care of that too. Take some time to enjoy the season, let the elves wrap up your shopping in one quick trip!
